The IX Francophone Film Festival will take place at the Odeon Center of Culture in Chisinau between March 21 and 28. The Festival is part of the over 200 activities organized during the traditional Days of Francophonie in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. Movies of different genres will be shown during the festival, including: “Paris” (2008) directed by Cédric Klapisch, “Days of Glory” (2006) by Rachid Bouchareb, “Love Songs” (2007) by Christophe Honoré, “The Horseman on the Roof” (1995) by Jean-Paul Rappeneau, etc. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Lidia Troianowski, manager of the Odeon Center of Culture, said that the movies were selected rather rigorously and represent the greatest accomplishments of the contemporary French cinematography. “The pictures will be screened in French and subtitled in Romanian. Four of them will not be subtitled and will be shown for those that know French,” Lidia Troianowski said. She added that the Francophone Film Festivals attract the largest number of visitors. The festival will be opened at the Odeon Center of Culture on March 21, at 19.00. Entrance is free of charge. Several films forming part of the Festival will be screened at the Patria cinemas in Balti (March 23), Cahul (March 25), Ungheni (March 26) and at the Tiraspol cinema in Tiraspol (March 24). The Days of Francophonie in Moldova are held during March 20-31, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, the Embassy of France, the French Alliance in Moldova and the Francophone University Agency with the support of the International Francophonie Organization.
