Further rain forecast in central Moldova

Rain will continue to fall over the next days, with central Moldova, Chisinau and its suburbs getting the most of it. Thunder and lightning, hail an high winds are also possible. Natalia Terentev, chief weatherman at the State Hydrometeorological Service, says the rain will mostly fall in the form of showers. These will be triggered by atmospheric instability and high levels of soil humidity, as a result of the recent floods. “The weather will remain unstable as long as the soil is humid, because of its ability to form rain clouds”, Terentev explained. Scattered to heavy rains at levels exceeding 15mm are predicted to fall. Blowing at 15 to 20m/s, wind is likely to cause storming events. Air temperature across Moldova will range from 23 to 28ºC; in Chisinau from 25 to 27ºC.
