The Government’s secretary general Victor Bodiu presented the conception of the future national strategic planning document for 2012-2020. The strategy is based on seven priorities in such areas as education, roads, finances, business, energy, social insurance and justice, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government.
Victor Bodiu called on all the interested factors – civil society, donors and the opposition – to take part in these consultations. The main objective is to accelerate economic growth and reduce poverty. In order to facilitate the discussions, working groups will be set up under every ministry. They will consist of civil servants and representatives of civil society, the academic community and foreign development partners.
The document is to be drafted by October. In November, it will be submitted to the legislative body for adoption.
National Participation Council chairman Sorin Merecre approved of the Government’s initiative to hold public debates on strategic documents, stressing yet that the entire society must become involved in achieving the set objectives.
Representatives of NGOs put forward a number of initiatives aimed at improving the activity of the working groups and submitted proposals as regards the number of priorities and selected areas.
