Gagauzia to prepare its own law on studying of history of Moldova

The students in Gagauzia will not study the history of Romanians, the Governor of the Autonomous Territorial Unit Mihail Formuzal said in a working meeting of the Gagauz Executive Committee, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the official website of Gagauzia. “The number of complaints from the residents of Gagauzia has increased. They express their concern about the changing of the name of the history course from the History of Romanians into Universal History,” said Mihail Formuzal. “If the Ministry of Education ordered studying the history of the neighboring country, the Executive Committee will prepare an own law whereby the education institutions in Gagauzia will be obliged to study the history of Moldova.” The head of the Education Division of Gagauzia Vera Balova said that no order about the renaming of the history course has come to the Division so far.
