The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) invited Gheorghe Cavcaliuc to be questioned on November 5 as accused in the cases fabricated against Gheorghe Petic and Ruslan Verbitski, IPN reports.

According to PCCOCS, Gheorghe Petic was framed for rape, while Ruslan Verbitski for illegal conveyance of Kalashnikov cartridges to Ukraine.

The two cases were fabricated by the General Police Inspectorate in 2018, when Gheorghe Cavcaliuc served as deputy head of the Inspectorate. In both of the cases, there are a number of suspects a part of whom are in remand detention.

Gheorghe Cavcaliuc is investigated in the ‘brilliant green’ case. The leader of the Party “Building Europe at Home” (PACE) was accused of hooliganism committed by one or more persons and inciting to commit acts of violence against persons after a number of PACE members splashed brilliant green on the deputy head of Sângerei district Tudor Tutunaru this April.

Cavcaliuc left Moldova after the snap parliamentary elections of this July. He repeatedly informed that he is in London on business.
