The Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu said it is the former Liberal-Democratic Premier Vlad Filat who caused damage to Banca de Economii (Savings Bank). He underlined that the bank was profitable until Filat was named Prime Minister. The head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet denied the accusations, IPN reports.
Mihai Ghimpu went out of the Parliament’s sitting indignant that the report on the situation at Banca de de Economii is examined in the absence of the press. He stressed that Banca de Economii was robbed after Vlad Filat came to power.
Valeriu Strelet talked to the press during a break in the Parliament’s sitting. He said that Mihai Ghimpu should sell his property in order to recover the damage caused to the persons who withdrew their money from Banca de Economii because of his hysteria. He also said that Mihai Ghimpu may be held accountable for slander.
The closed-door sitting focusing on the situation at Banca de Economii continued when the news story was published.
