The Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu said the dismissal of Speaker Marian Lupu created chaos and this act was orchestrated by Russia. The liberal leader spoke about this and other topics in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV.

“The creation of the Moldovan Transnistrian republic was the first blow given by Russia. The steps taken to dismiss the Bashan are also according to Russia’s scenario. Now Parliament will function only if the Constitutional Court decides that the Deputy Speaker can chair the sittings. Otherwise, the head of state will have to dissolve Parliament in three days and the country will be in a state of chaos for three months,” said Mihai Ghimpu.

He also said that the decision to transfer the powers of the Speaker to the Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici is illegal and they will challenge it in the Constitutional Court.

Mihai Ghimpu accused the leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat of endangering Moldova’s European integration and of discrediting the Alliance for European Integration. “He didn’t safeguard Moldova’s interests, but Russia’s. He wants money and power. Instead of thanking Plahontiuc and PDM because he was named to the post owing to them, he hit because it was Moscow’s order,” he said.

According to the Liberal leader, the European People’s Party will call a meeting in May to discuss the problem of the PLDM.

Ghimpu also said that he will ask for no post until the end of the mandate and that the creation of the AEI 3 is more important than a state post.

Marian Lupu was dismissed from the post of Head of Parliament on April 25 by the votes of 76 MPs of the 101.
