The workers of Glodeni sugar factory protested today, March 14, near the Economic Court of Appeal, demanding that workers were recognized as privileged creditors and were paid their wages before other creditors could claim their shares. They also request the penal charges against trade union leaders to be dropped, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“We have not received our salaries since July 2009, people have been fired, raises for woke conditions have not been paid. We protest today and hope we’ll be heard or they will decide to give us the money. They’d better pay us, for we are going to continue until we get some results”, said Vasile Guleac, Glodeni-Zahar trade union leader.
They issued a press release, insisting upon the priority payment of salary arrears. They reject the proposal of the intergovernmental commission on February 25, 2011, that Moldova-Gaz was more flexible in this regard after becoming guaranteed creditor.
