Customs officers identified undeclared goods to the value of tens of thousands of lei in a vehicle that transported passengers and unaccompanied parcels from Italy. According to the Customs Service, the clothes and jewels in commercial quantities were hidden among the parcels, IPN reports.
The bus entered Moldova through the Leuseni-Albita customs post last night. It was driven by a Moldovan aged 36. The vehicle had a trailer and both of them had foreign license numbers.
When being checked, the bus was redirected to the red corridor, where the vehicles are examined more thoroughly. As a result, undeclared consumer goods worth tens of thousands of lei were found in the trailer’s freight section. The driver is to be penalized.
