The Party of Socialists (PSRM) congratulated the country’s citizens on the 27th anniversary of the declaration of Moldova’s independence. In a press statement, the party regrets that both the current government and some of the political forces use one of the most important holidays for own political purposes, IPN reports.
“The events we have followed in the Great National Assembly Square on August 26 and 27 discredit and significantly diminish the significance and symbolism of this holiday. We share the dissatisfaction of the people who protest against the wrongdoings of the regime. But we are categorially against the participation in these protests by the unionists who plead for the liquidation of the Moldovan state and by ex-ministers and current members of Parliament who for many years have formed part of the anti-popular ruling alliance,” reads the statement.
The Socialists condemn the actions by both of the pro-European political groups – of the governing regime and of the so-called opposition of the right – that, on the one hand, make use of the ordinary people, humiliating their dignity and, on the other hand, use the public holiday to attract maximum attention to their political actions.
The PSRM expresses its conviction that the mission of the healthy forces in society is to do their utmost to remove the discredited politicians who ruled during the past nine years and make them be history and that the people will make a correct choice in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
