As many as 20,665 young people will be admitted to universities this year, 6,745 of whom on budget-funded places, which is by 222 students more than in 2011, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the admission plan approved by the Government. Budget-funded places are available only at state universities. At private universities, there will be accepted 4,005 young people on a contract basis. A number of 7,965 students will be able to study for a Master’s Degree, 3,410 of whom on a budget-funded place. The colleges will admit 10,120 students, 5,386 of whom on a budget-funded place, up 119 compared with 2011. 14,340 students will be enrolled at vocational schools, as last year. 94.1% of them will study on a budget-funded place. 1,075 foreigners will be accepted at Moldovan universities, 350 of whom will have a scholarship. There will be included a number of new specialties that are in demand on the labor market, such as welding engineering, information security, ecological security, assembling of technical-sanitary equipment and systems, and others.
