A number of 26 representatives of organized civil society groups were selected to work on the National Participation Council during 2017-2019. The Council will have the duty of strengthening the platform for communication with civil society in the process of drafting, implementing and updating strategic planning documents, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.
The goal of the institutionalization of relations between the central public authorities and civil society is to develop a nationwide mechanism for promoting the participation by civil society organizations in the decision-making process, which is a commitment assumed by the national action plan for implementing the Moldova – EU Association Agreement.
On January 20 – February 20 2017, the State Chancellery held a public contest to choose the members of the National Participation Council. The Council members on behalf of civil society are:
