Parliament Friday decided that the Government should identify the best solution for Banca de Economii (BEM). The bank was close to bankruptcy after releasing a number of delinquent loans, IPN reports.
The MPs examined the report of the commission of inquiry into the management of the state holding in the BEM behind closed doors. They reached the conclusion that the bank’s management has been defective since 2010 and the reports presented to the National Bank were erroneous.
Deputy Speaker Adrian Candu said after the sitting that according to rapporteurs’ conclusions, difficulties were created at administrative level. The Government is to identify resources to capitalize the bank.
Communist MP Oleg Reidman, who heads the commission of inquiry, said the legislature decided to make the report and the Parliament decision public and they will become available soon.
