Government offers condolences to Titus Jucov’s family

Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, in the name of the Government, sent a letter of condolence to the family of stage manager Titus Jucov, who died at the Cahul District Hospital on November 17.

The letter says the death of the director and man of art Titus Jucov is a huge loss for the national culture and theater art of Moldova, for the relatives, colleagues and all those who knew him. The responsibility towards art and the troupe that he managed, the love and care for the children are the qualities that marked Titus Jucov’s work. Owing to his accomplishments, the National Puppet Theater “Licurici” became the place that is loved best by children from all over the country.

During his lifetime, Titus Jucov received a number of state awards, including the Medal “Civic Merit”, the Order “Labor Glory”, the Medal “Mihai Eminescu”, the Order of Honor, and the title “People’s Artist”.  

The director was returning from a tour done in Turkey, together with a group of actors, by bus, when he went sick. He was admitted to the reanimatology section of the Cahul District Hospital and died there several hours later. Titus Jucov was 63.
