Government scraps vignette proposal

The Government has withdrawn its proposal to introduce a road toll on the use of roads by cars registered outside of Moldova, also known as the vignette proposal, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The announcement was made at Friday's meeting of Parliament by Justice Minister Oleg Efrim, who did not elaborate.
The proposal provided taxes of 7, 65 and 380 euros on foreign cars staying in Moldova for 3, 30 and 180 days, respectively. The Government's proposal sparked discontent particularly among migrant Moldovan workers who often drive foreign-registered cars when they come on vacation to Moldova.
