Government to give other 10 M lei for flooded farmlands

10.6 million lei shall be given as compensations to the people whose farmlands were flooded, till this weekend. The money will be allocated from the account opened for flood-stricken at the Finance Ministry, Info-Prim Neo quotes a communique of the Government. 4.7 million lei have been allocated up to now for this purpose. The people were given 10,000 lei per ha, Agriculture Minister Anatolie Gorodenco has told the commission assessing the floods' consequences. 19.6 million lei have been gathered on the flood-related account, as the donors' list is soon to be made public. Construction Minister Vladimir Baldovici has said of 246 houses to be bought, 99 have already been purchased or soon will be, as other 78 are still to be procured. The commission decided to give by 1 tonne of cement and 1.5 cubic meters of lumber to the victims. Health Minister Larisa Catrinici has assured more than a half of 526 wells flooded have been cleaned, while Environment Minister Violeta Ivanov dismissed allegations that the environment would have been severely polluted because of the floods.
