Sixteen veterans from six districts of the country will receive various lump-sum amounts to help them buy or renovate homes, under a decision adopted by the Government.
To this end, almost 800,000 lei will be allocated from the state budget. The money will be transferred to the local public authorities. The biggest amounts will be distributed to Drochia (205,000 lei) and Stefan Voda (184,000 lei). Amounts of 123,000 lei will go to the districts of Cahul and Ungheni. The remainder will go to recipients in Briceni and Riscani.
Lump-sum aid for the construction, renovation or purchase of housing is granted annually to persons who have suffered from armed conflicts and their families, victims of the Chernobyl disaster and veterans of war. This year, a total 8.5 million lei was reserved in the budget for giving out such aid.
