The Green Ecologist Party (PVE) has officially started its election campaign for the November 30 parliamentary elections with the slogan “A clean man in a clean country!”.
In a news conference at IPN, the party’s head Anatolie Prohnitski said the Greens will have a clean, correct campaign without populism and electoral promises. “We are against populism and the pollution of minds by the oligarchic political parties involved in the election campaign, both those from the country and those financed from the East. The presence of the Green Ecologist Party in Moldova’s Parliament is a necessity, a European norm,” he stated.
Gheorghe Zugravu, a candidate for the post of MP, said that unlike other parties, 50% of the candidates on the list of the PVE are young because the young people represent Moldova’s future and the driving force that must propel the whole political, economic and social system. “We don’t think that the young people are incapable and unprofessional. On the contrary, we think that they can bring new ideas and solutions and can generate new changes,” he said.
Candidate Alla Tofan noted that the PVE is the first political party that included in its statutes the role of women in society and the equality of chances in the political life. The party is convinced that Moldova can have a better future through democracy and diversity and the women represent a considerable part of the party’s list of candidates.
PVE candidate Alexei Palancean said that everything was divided and bought in Moldova, but the nature remained. The party pleads for the protection of the environment and the establishment of an equitable balance between society and nature by educating society in ecologist, democratic and participatory sprit. “I call on everyone to join us,” stated Alexei Palancean.
Founded in 1992, the Green Ecologist Party became a fully-fledged member of the European Green Party in 2008.
