Professional athletes and lovers of sport and open-air distractions are invited to the second Green Run on July 5-6. This year the event will take place near Tarasova village of Rezina district and will include running and cycling races, trips, open-air distractions and concerts, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of “Explore Moldova” Association, the goal of the event is to promote a healthy lifestyle and to increase interest in internal tourism by rediscovering the picturesque places of Moldova. The program will include runs on distances of 500 m and of 5 and 10 km, and 3, 10, and 30 km cycling races for different age categories and levels of professionalism.
The running races will take place on the first day, while the cycling ones on the second day. Last year, the Green Run involved over 200 people, but this year the number of participants is expected to be higher.
The participants can travel from Chisinau by own vehicles or by the units of transport provided by the organizers. They will live in tents or, if they want, at private homes in the neighboring villages. Green Run is organized by “Explore Moldova” Association and the National Inward Tourism Association of Moldova, with the support of USAID CEED II Project, the NGO “Pro Trebujeni”, the District Councils of Rezina, Soldanesti and Floresti and the local authorities of 10 neighboring villages, namely Tarasova, Alcedar, Poiana, Socola, Vadul-Rascov, Climautii de Jos, Cot, Bursuc, Japca, and Sanatauca.
