A group of veterans say they don’t recognized Igor Dodon as President after it has been revealed that he allegedly seeks to federalize Moldova and “subordinate our country to the Russian Federation”.
“We veterans of the 1992 Nistru War and retired officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Defense strongly condemn the acts of betrayal committed by Igor Dodon. We no longer recognize him as President of Moldova. Igor Dodon has revealed to everybody his true face, that of a traitor, and his true goals: the federalization of our country and the destruction of the Moldovan state. Igor Dodon wants to make Moldova a vassal state of the Russian Federation, which is completely outrageous”, Vasile Iacubov, president of the War Veterans Association, read out from a statement during a press conference.
“We defended our country’s independence with our blood and we do not want to see a traitor at the helm of the country, someone who took money from abroad and is eager to sell Moldova to his masters in Moscow,” says the statement.
The veterans recalled that Igor Dodon “showed disrespect for all of the Nistru war veterans when went to lay flowers to separatist monuments in Transnistria.” They urged the public to join a “republican consolidation” rally on Wednesday, 10:00, in the Great National Assembly Square.
