The residents of Moldova that will take foreign vehicles older than seven into the country will not pay the guarantee customs tax from today, March 30.
The modifications to the law on the taking of goods into and out of Moldova by private individuals, approved by the Government on March 22, took effect today, after published in the Official Gazette, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta, the modifications are designed to remove the obstacles to bringing units of transport registered abroad into Moldova by Moldovan residents on a temporary basis. “If the given problem is solved, the Moldovan people will be able to use the money for personal necessities, not for paying the guarantee, especially now before the Easter holidays,” the Ministry of Finance says in a communique.
Article 20 of the given law does not cover the nonresident individuals.
