The Municipal Puppet Theater “Guguta” opens the 21st session on September 19 with the play “Puss in Boots” by Charles Perrault.
“Immediately after the opening of the session, in 2-3 weeks, we will premiere the play “Let’s go to Santaron” written by Laurentiu Budau. We are simultaneously working on the play “Harzobul” (“The Cable”) written by the same author. Given that 2013 is the Year of Spiridon Vangheli, the theater will put on a play in homage to this great writer. At the end of the year, we will present holiday performances,” the theater’s director Gabriela Lungu has told IPN.
This year the theater will also go on a number of tours and will take part in international festivals in Romania’s Cluj-Napoca and Galati, in Ukraine’s Nikolaev, in Russia’s Belgorod, and in France. In October, there will be opened a creation studio under the theater, where the talented children will take dramaturgy and other kinds of lessons.
“We have great expectations of this session, but we first of all want to keep all the spectators we have and to bring new ones,” stated Gabriela Lungu.
The eighth International Puppet Theaters Festival “Under Guguta’s Hat” will take place next May. It will bring together in Chisinau famous artistic groups from several countries.
