The Hancesti District Hospital was outfitted with high-precision medical equipment bought with Japanese funds within the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (Kusanone Program). The value of the donation exceeds US$86,000, IPN reports.
Thus, the medical institution now possesses a video gastroscope and colonoscope endoscopic system and a digital ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system.
It is estimated that the number of endoscopic examinations will increase to 2,500 a year, while the number of persons who will benefit from ultrasonic diagnosis will rise to 8,000 annually.
On September 21, Japan’s Ambassador to Moldova Masanobu Yoshii will visit the Hancesti District Hospital to see the results of the project.
