The director general of the state-run company Moldova's Railways Ilie Turcan was fired, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure.
Under an order made by Transport Minister Anatol Salaru, Ilie Turcan was dismissed because he did not make sure that an effective plan of action was devised. As a result, it was impossible to monitor the company management process.
In accordance with the same order, the company's chief engineer Serghei Tomsa will hold the post of director on an interim basis, until a new manager is appointed.
