The director of the Tighina State Forestry Agency Iurie Apostolachi said the accusations made against him by a group of colleagues in a news conference on December 19 are far from being sound. These are dissatisfied because he, as the director, tried to bring things at the company in order as not all the employees there fulfill their duties. He didn’t abuse his power, while the given employees, when time came for them to answer for what they did, all fell ill suddenly so as to avoid explaining the situation in the areas in their responsibility.
Iurie Apostolachi stated for IPN that he never saw at work three of those who made accusations against him since he returned to the post of director in October 2017. For example, Alexei Turcanu, engineer for forest regeneration, went on unpaid leave on October 13 for a period of 120 days. The deputy head of the Harbovat Forestry Enterprise Iurie Diru had been on leave for two months and then went on sick leave.
As regards the head of the Harbovat Forestry Enterprise Ocolului Silvic Gheorghe Sucitu, Iurie Apostolachi said a number of problems were identified at the enterprise in Harbovat, but this refused to provide explanations and went on sick leave and hasn’t yet returned. As to the statements of forester Ion Kovalev, the director said he does not have powers to start cases. This is indeed investigated as a suspect, but Kovalev continues to work and hasn’t been dismissed from post, as he asserted.
Iurie Apostolachi said that since he returned to post on October 16 he has reprimanded no one, shouted at no one and this thing can be confirmed by employees. He will order an internal inquiry to clarify the situation and will later inform the press about the results.
