Health services to be adjusted to inflation

Tariffs on health services will be indexed under a Government decision to the rate of inflation for 2011, which was estimated at 7.2%. Health Minister Andrei Usatyi noted that since the introduction of the Unified Tariffs Catalog, tariffs on health services were indexed only once in 2007, by 9.3%. Meanwhile, the real costs of the services provided in health facilities have risen, taking into account purchases of modern equipment and the introduction of modern diagnostic and treatment methods, argued the Minister. In addition, the list of health services was supplemented with 38 new items and currently contains 4,529 items. The indexed tariffs will enter into effect 15 days after their publishing in the Official Gazette of Moldova.
