The Chisinau Court of Appeals postponed the hearing in the case concerning the PCRM's head office situated on Armeneasca St in Chisinau to July 28. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the PCRM's jurist Sergiu Sarbu said the hearing was put off because there appeared a new participant in the trial – the Government of Moldova, through the Government Buildings Administration Division. “As there was provided new evidence, it was decided to postpone the hearing so that the sides have time to familiarize themselves with it,” the jurist said. Earlier, the head of the Chisinau Office of the State Chancellery Sergiu Palihovich submitted a challenge to the municipal Prosecutor's Office, asking examining the legality of the March 2006 decision whereby the Chisinau Council allocated a plot of 0.247 hectares located on Armeaneasca St to the Communists Party. According to Palihovich, the land was to be allotted by public auction, but the Council took the decision basing on the legislation regarding public associations, which does not cover the PCRM.
