The parliamentary commission on national security, defense and public order on September 21 will hold public hearings on the case of the plane flying from Libya that landed in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We will hold hearings to obtain answers to a number of questions like: Why did the plane come? How many times did it fly to Moldova? What kind of munitions did it take? Where did it go? and others. Initially, it was said that a Latvian company signed a contract for the supply of munitions with somebody from Libya. Today they said the munitions were taken to Armenia and this is serious as this country experiences a frozen conflict. There are rumors and reports, but things must be clarified,” said MP Mihai Godea, who is a member of the commission. Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko said the institution he heads received no information about this plane, but asked for details from the Ministry of the Interior. “We must see first if the actions were legal so as to decide what to do next,” he stated. The IL- 76 plane landed at the Chisinau International Airport in the evening of September 12. It was heading for the Marculesti Airport, but could not land there as there is no night landing equipment. The plane took off the next day with munitions bought from Moldova on board. According to press reports, the plane returned to Moldova on September 15 to take several tonnes of munitions more.
