Hemp sowed among pumpkin and corn plants

About 500 hemp plants have been discovered on a field in Ignatei village of Rezina district, among pumpkin and corn plants. According to the Ministry of the Interior, it was established that the land was cultivated by a man aged 52.
A similar field that was 0.2 hectares in area was identified in Clocusna, Ocnita. As many as 350 hemp plants had been sowed among corn plants there. The plot belonged to a local man aged 76.
A 50-year-old man from Donduseni village of the district with the same name also cultivated hemp illegally. There were found 75 hemp plants on his plot.
The persons who cultivate hemp are liable to up to six years in jail.
