Hit-and-run driver caught four hours after accident

A driver from Heciul Nou village of Sangerei district killed a man from the same settlement in a car accident, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Traffic Police Division, the accident happened in Trifanesti village in the evening of December 4. The police established that a VAZ-2107 car driven by a 22-year-old man from Heciul Nou struck a pedestrian aged 51 from the same village. The pedestrian died on the spot. The driver did not stop to help, but was caught by the police about four hours after the accident. The case is investigated by the Sangerei District Police Commissariat.
