Holes in Chisinau streets will be stopped up by Easter

The road workers in Chisinau Saturday stopped up street holes with asphalt on an area of 1,633 square meters. The works will continue by Easter. The repair works will start afterward, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We stopped up large psections on Stefan cel Mare Blvd., Mihai Viteazul and Petricani streets. Stopping works will be now carried out on the streets Muncesti and Ismail. We plan to finish stopping by Easter. 5,000 square meters of road are not being prepared for stopping,” the head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Veaceslav Tarna said at Monday's meeting of the City Hall. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca instructed stopping up the main arteries first and then the access roads to suburbs. “I ask you to help us repair the portion of the Chisinau-Vadul lui Voda road going through Budesti village,” asked Nina Costiuc, the mayor of Budesti. “We do not have money, but that section of the road is in a deplorable condition.” “Though it is the responsibility of the local councils to repair the suburban streets, the Chisinau administration allocates money for their repair every year,” said Dorin Chirtoaca. “A sum of 7 million lei was allotted last year for the purpose. The construction of the road going to Vaduleni cost more than 3.5 million lei.” The money was transferred to SA Edilitate, which is a City Hall division dealing with road repair. It was used to stop us a number of streets, including those in Budesti, Cricova, Durlesti and Sangera that form part of the municipality of Chisinau.
