Metropolitan Bishop Vladimir will leave for Jerusalem to bring the Holy Fire to the Orthodox Christians of Moldova in the morning of May 3. His Holiness will be accompanied by a group of priests of the Metropolitan Church of Chisinau and all Moldova.
Contacted by IPN, the head of the Metropolitan Church’s press service Nicolae Carlig said the delegation will take part in the religious ceremony held before the Easter service and, after the Holy Fire kindles, will return to Moldova, in the evening of May 4. “At about 7pm, the delegation headed by His Holiness Vladimir will be met in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral, from where the Holy Fire will be distributed to all the churches and bishoprics of the country,” stated Nicolae Carlig.
The Embassy of Moldova in Jerusalem will support the process of transporting the Holy Fire.
The Holy Fire will be conveyed from Jerusalem for the 11th consecutive year.
