Holy Fire will reach Chisinau on Saturday evening

The Holy Fire will be brought from Jerusalem to Chisinau by a delegation headed by His Holiness Vladimir, Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and all Moldova, in the evening of April 23. The Bishop will be accompanied by two priests and the Government's Secretary General Victor Bodiu. Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, secretary of the Moldovan Metropolitan Church, has told Info-Prim Neo that the Holy Fire will reach the Metropolitan Cathedral “God's Birth” in Chisinau at about 19.30. From the Cathedral, the fire will be distributed to churches and monasteries all over Moldova. “Bringing the Holy Fire is a nice yearly tradition. Every faithful person should celebrate Easter with a piece of the Holy Fire in their homes,” said Vadim Cheibas. This is the ninth time that the Holy Fire will come to Moldova. The Holy Fire is the most renowned miracle in the world of Eastern Orthodoxy. It has taken place at the same time, in the same manner, in the same place every single year for centuries. No other miracle is known to occur so regularly and so steadily over time. It happens in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the holiest place on earth, where Christ was crucified, entombed, and where He finally rose from the dead.
