Homeless persons expected at Accommodation Center

The Accommodation Center for the Homeless is ready to lodge any person without home. The institution now has available places. The announcement was made by the Center's head Iurie Ursu at Monday's meeting of the Chisinau services and divisions, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Ursu, about 50 persons stay at the Center overnight. During the day, there are 15 persons, some of whom are disabled. Approximately 20 beds remain available during the night. If more persons come to the Center, there will be placed additional beds and mattresses from the reserve. Iurie Ursu said the only problem encountered by the Center is the food. The persons accommodated at the Center are fed two times a day, not three times as required. The persons who want to use the services of the Center can contact it on 27-64-31 and 27-64-99. Asked by Info-Prim Neo, the head of the General Police Commissariat's press office Adrian Jovmir said mobile groups were set up to check the basements and other places where the homeless persons hide. 218 such persons have been discovered during four days. They were taken to the Ministry of the Interior's shelter. On Sunday alone, the mobile teams found 54 homeless persons. Jovmir said the Inspectorate for Minors of the Municipal Police also created such mobile groups to discover minor vagrants. The minors are taken to the Placement Center. Severe frost is forecast for the coming days as well.
