The vice chairman of the Liberal Party (PL), MP Valeriu Munteanu said the ‘hot autumn’ must be understood as a period of work of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) and the Communist Party (PCRM). “It is important that this ‘hotness’ produces the results expected by society – electing the head of state, ending the protracted constitutional crisis and, respectively, doing the homework for joining the European Union,” the Liberal lawmaker stated for Info-Prim Neo. Valeriu Munteanu said that the political class this autumn must seriously do its homework. “The unfulfilled tasks must be carried out. I mean not only the election of the President of Moldova, but also the steps that must be taken to come closer to the EU and the documents that must be adopted by Parliament. We have three months ahead and I think the autumn will be interesting, if not ‘hot’,” said the MP. He stated that the political-juridical debates that will take place should end with the election of the head of state as early elections would be a counterproductive solution for Moldova. Valeriu Munteanu also said that the parliamentary opposition must also do its job. “The PCRM represents the opposition and, as in every state, it plays a role that is decisive in building a democratic state. In this sense, they have the freedom to assert themselves, level criticism and propose amendments and bills that we will back if they are sufficiently reasonable,” he said. Earlier, a number of politicians said this autumn will be ‘hot’ from political viewpoint.
