Hot water supply to be resumed in Chisinau today, Termocom

Chisinau residents depending on district heating will have hot water again starting Wednesday, January 21, Info-Prim Neo learned from Termocom. According to the utility, radiator temperatures will also gradually grow. Last night the temperature of the delivered heat rose from la 55º C to 63º C. In the course of the day it is supposed to rise to 68º C, and will soon reach standard temperature levels, which are adjustable to the air temperature outside. Hot water supply in Chisinau was disrupted in the aftermath of the gas crisis. The utility decided to resort to this measure to cut gas use by 16 percent. Russia restarted gas delivery through Ukraine to Europe Tuesday morning, January 20. Gas taps had been closed since the beginning of January following disputes between Ukraine and Russia over pricing and transshipment terms. In this period, Moldova was provided with gas from Ukraine's own stocks, but amounts covered only basic needs, as power and heating plants burned fuel oil.
