Houses destroyed by floods will be taken over by mayors’ offices

Banca de Economii will allocate 10 million lei for purchasing houses for the families that remained without a home as a result of this summer’s floods. The authorities committed themselves to providing the victims with dwellings until November, with the support of the economic entities, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the regulations approved by the executive, the houses will be bought in the birthplaces of the flood victims or in other settlements if the victims want. The regulations recommend that the local public authorities should take over the plots on which the damaged houses are located so that they are used by mayors’ offices. After signing sale-purchase contracts for new houses, the authorities will demolish the seriously damaged houses and take the construction waste away. The floods destroyed 244 houses, mainly in northern Moldova. The Moldovan economic entities have already purchased 106 houses and donated them to flood-stricken families.
