Hundreds of homes, cellars and orchards in a number of districts have been flooded as a result of the May 13 rain. The floodwater damaged hectares of crops and local roads, IPN reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, 100 cellars and 100 orchards were flooded in Gura Galbenei village. In Cimislia town, there were inundated 150 homes and about 200 private orchards.
On May 15, 41 households in Cimislia were helped by rescuers to pump water out. Today the works continue at another 39 homes in Ecaterinovca and Bogdanovca Veche village of Cimislia district.
Damage was also caused in Telita village of Anenii Noi district, where 1 km of local road was damaged. In Puhoi and Tapala villages of Ialoveni district, the floodwater affected hectares of crops.
Local commissions for emergencies are assessing the extent of the done damage.
