A new march for Moldova’s union with Romania entitled “Re-forming the two Romanian states” was staged in Chisinau on November 8. The event ended in front of the Embassy of Romania, where the participants posted hundreds of messages by which they asked for a common Government for the two Romanian states. The march, mounted on the initiative of the National Unity Bloc and the Union Council, was held in parallel with protests staged in Bucharest, Iasi, Cluj and other Romanian cities, where unionistic messages were uttered, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the unionistic organizations.

“The tragedy that happened at “Colectiv” club clearly showed that the political class in Romania needs to be re-formed. On the other hand, the socioeconomic disaster witnessed by the Republic of Moldova showed that the state needs to be fully reorganized. We all want to live in a better Romania and for this we need a common Government for the two Romanian states. This is our message to the politicians, civil society and the ambassadors of other states in Chisinau,” said the representative of the National Unity Bloc Constantin Codreanu.

“We took today to the streets to demand a common Government. We stopped at the Embassies of the U.S., Germany and Romania to symbolically transmit our message to them. We want to be heard by as many people as possible, who would understand that we, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, do not see another solution for overcoming the current situation than the Union ,” stated the representative of the Civic Movement “Moldova’s Youth” Vitalie Prisacaru.

The event organizers said they will continue the series of street demonstrations by which they will attract the attention of the public opinion in Romania and Moldova to the necessity of creating a common Government.
