A Chisinau man, 58, died during surgery at the Emergency Hospital because of a hemorrhage in the thoracic area. The wound was caused by a bullet as the man's rifle fired by accident.
The misfortune happened last night, February 13. An ambulance was called by a neighbor who head the gunshot. The National Center of Emergency Medicine reports on its webpage that the man had a penetrating wound in the left hemithorax and his lung was damaged. He was taken to the surgery room but the doctors couldn't save him.
Head of the Chisinau Police press service Adrian Jovmir told IPN that the man was a hunter and owned the rifle legally. According to the initial investigation, the victim fired the gun by accident while cleaning it.
