“I voted for democracy, European integration, a free future and a system where every person should be protected and supported,” Ala Mandacanu, president of the Moldovan community in Canada’s Quebec, has told Info-Prim Neo. Ala Mandacanu said she planned her leave so as to be able to take part in both of the rounds of voting in Chisinau. “More than 100 families that are members of the Moldovan community in Canada came on vacation in this period in order to be able to vote in the elections,” she stated. She also said that all the people should cast their votes and express their will. “We have representative democracy and it is the duty of every Moldovan to choose the best of the candidates. If you want everything to be fine, go and vote!” Ala Mandacanu urged. About 20,000 families of Moldovans settled in Canada. The children represent one third of the Moldovans there and do not have the right to vote.
