The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) last year performed 142 inspections at providers of electronic communication networks and services. Of them, 103 were planned inspections, while 39 – unplanned, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Agency. Compared with 2011, the number of inspections fell by 17%. The most often violations identified by the Agency concern the connection or permission to illegally connect to the electronic communication networks, unauthorized provision of electronic communication services, the use of radio frequencies/channels with and/or without technical permit, non-observance of the term for preliminarily informing the end-users about the modification of the conditions for the provision of services, etc. As a result of the inspections, the ANRCETI sent to court for examination 22 reports concerning offenses committed in the ICT sector, 13 of which are against private individuals, while 9 against legal entities. The heaviest fines were imposed for the unauthorized provision of electronic communication networks and/or services. In such cases, the private individuals pay fines of 1,000 to 2,000 lei, while the legal entities of 4,000 to 6,000 lei.
