The movie “At lower limit of the sky”, directed by Moldovan Igor Cobileanski, had its premiere at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic. The national premiere was scheduled for this autumn, IPN reports.
The movie is Igor Cobileanski’s debut in full-length films. The producer is known more for his short films “Boredom and inspiration”, “When light is turned off”, and “Sasa, Grisa and Ion”.
According to a communiqué from the Association of Young Filmmakers, the movie “At lower limit of the sky” was premiered in the competitive section “East of the West” that included 12 most valuable cinematographic productions from Eastern and Central Europe.
The script was written by Corneliu Porumboiu and Igor Cobileanski. The movie is about a small drugs trafficker Viorel, who lives in a Moldovan town forgotten by the world. The main parts are played by Igor Babiac, Sergiu Voloc, and Ela Ionescu. Shooting took place in Moldova.
Moldovan filmmakers also took part in the International Film Festival “Light of the World” in Russia, where they won two top prizes and a second place. Two movies competed there: “The Bug” and “We will be together”, directed by Igor Circov-Ghibu.
