Head of Parliament Igor Corman expressed his interest in strengthening the partnership relations for transferring technology and innovations for increasing energy efficiency and the use of renewable sources of energy. He submitted a relevant proposal in a meeting with representatives of Uppsala region and of the local university community, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from Parliament, the interlocutors agreed to exchange delegations so as to examine possibilities of transferring technology and expertise and of implementing model energy efficiency projects.

“We want to reduce the costs of energy for domestic households and consumption and to diversify the sources, including by producing green energy. Parliament will soon debate a bill on the promotion of the use of renewable energy,” said Igor Corman.

He added that the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU and the creation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area will create new opportunities for enhancing the country’s economic competitiveness and the improvement of energy efficiency is one of the priorities.
