The state will take all measures to return Air Moldova into the ownership of the Republic of Moldova. The statement belongs to President Igor Dodon who, during a press briefing held after the meeting of the Supreme Security Council (CSS) on September 12, also stated that all the prerequisites and reasons that allow the cancellation of Air Moldova privatization contract were in place, IPN reports.

Another topic discussed at the CSS meeting concerned the concession of Chisinau Airport. "Since the contest launching and until the moment of concession, there have been violations of the legislation. This has been established by the Government and the parliamentary committee, which must come with a report on the airport and on Air Moldova too.” declared Igor Dodon.

The third topic discussed at the CSS was the one concerning the situation of the Mărculești Airport. "It is an important state asset, which has the necessary infrastructure. We requested all the information so that at the next CSS meeting we could see how to use this asset,” specified Igor Dodon.

The president also said that he wanted to open two international airports, one in the south and another in the north of the Republic of Moldova, in order to create competition for the Chisinau International Airport.
