Igor Dodon: From today PCRM has a majority of seats on CMC

According to Igor Dodon, the court’s decision shows that all the arguments of the Liberal Party are groundless, illegal and tendentious and are aimed at manipulating the public opinion for electoral purposes. “The court showed where the real place of the Liberals and Dorin Chirtoaca is and proved that the alleged evidence and violations are nothing but aberrations. All the other absurd accusations made by Chirtoaca will have the same fate as today’s decision,” said Igor Dodon. The candidate said the PCRM holds a majority of seats on the Chisinau Municipal Council from June 15 and this fact will allow the Communist councilors to approve important decisions for the municipality and appoint the deputy mayors, the heads of subdivisions, municipal public services and companies. ”This majority will be responsible for the approval and amendment of the budget and for all the decisions taken in the vital areas of the city – public amenities, the social and economic spheres,” said Igor Dodon. He also said that a Communist majority in the Municipal Council will create optimal conditions of activity for a Communist mayor. “With the support of the majority councilors, I, as mayor general, will be able to fulfill the promises made to the people and to solve the problems faced by the municipality,” stated Igor Dodon. On June 15, the Centru district court rejected the application to order a recount of the votes cast for the Chisinau Municipal Council, filed by the Liberal Party. The party has three days to challenge it in the Chisinau Court of Appeals.
