President Igor Dodon plays some dangerous games and will have to answer for this sooner or later. The issue was developed in the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.

The leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu considers the Head of State will not manage to obtain the revision of the Constitution.  “To succeed, Dodon needs the people’s support and the support of the foreign partners. Given that he is for terminating the Association Agreement with the EU, Igor Dodon enjoys no support at foreign level, if only Moscow’s support. By his actions, Igor Dodon does not promote the interests of the people. You see what he is dealing with as Head of State. He either changes the flag or the name of the language on the President’s website, but does not take the measures needed to solve the problems of the people, to eradicate corruption. There is evidence that Igor Dodon was helped to become President by Vladimir Plahotniuc. Dodon and Plahotniuc represent a two-headed regime,” stated Maia Sandu.

The chairwoman of the National Liberal Party Vitalia Pavlichenko also considers that Igor Dodon will not manage to obtain additional powers to dissolve Parliament. “Igor Dodon was elected Head of State because the people were disappointed by the corrupt government. But ultimately, Igor Dodon, who depends on Moscow, will disappoint the population. Dodon does not have what to deal with. He does not enjoy the support of the parliamentary majority. He knew what powers the President has. If he hadn’t liked them, he should have stayed at home and not run,” she said.

President Igor Dodon on February 28 proposed a draft law to amend the Constitution. The proposal defines five new cases when the President can initiate the dissolution of Parliament.
