The International Labor Organization (ILO), jointly with the Moldovan authorities and trade unions, launches a country program on decent labor. “We'll implement programs on safety and health, jointly with the ones promoting HIV/AIDS policies in companies. We'll also promote and combat hard children's labor, through access to education and other services,” Ala Liciu, the ILO's national coordinator said on December 10, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to senior specialist with ILO SRO Budapest, Anne Knowles, the priorities of the program envisage strengthening governmental institutions and social partners in managing the labor market.
“It refers to reforming the labor management and the labor inspection jointly with building an efficient mechanism to settle labor conflicts. The program also pursues strengthening trade unions and employers unions, improving statistics in terms of quality and quantity. And to better tackle economic and social issues, ILO will provide assistance to tripartite commissions for collective consulting and negotiating,” Anne Knowles said.
According to her, ILO will fortify the capacities of public servants, of representatives of trade union and employers to implement gender-sensitive employment programs, especially for disadvantaged categories.
According to officials, the recent significant growth of the number of migrant workers may downsize the labor 5-6% till 2015.
