The implementation period of the National Integrity and Anticorruption Strategy for 2017-2021 was extended until 2023. A decision to this effect was adopted by Parliament by the votes of 79 MPs at the suggestion of PAS MP Lilian Carp, IPN reports.
According to the author, the extension of the period is conditioned by a number of factors that disrupted the proper functioning of the process of implementing the strategy. Among these is the fact that the strategy took effect later than it was planned. Also, the electoral processes put off the creation of the working bodies of the Parliament of the previous legislature.
The epidemiological situation in the country hampered the implementation of a number of the planned strategic measures in 2020-2021.
The action plan that is an integral part of the strategy will be supplemented with new measures so as to ensure the efficient implementation of the goals set by this document.
