Within a month of the appointment, the bailiffs must stop any other activity that is incompatible with the new post. The given provision is contained in a legislative initiative that is to be approved by the Government in its January 22 meeting, IPN reports.
The post of bailiff is incompatible with any remunerated work, except for teaching and scientific activity and work in professional teaching and scientific organizations.
The bailiffs will be also obliged to register the execution documents in the Electronic Judicial Execution Register.
The rules for bailiffs on probation were also amended. As in the case of bailiffs, they must be younger than 65. The probation will include not only practice under the guidance of the bailiff, but also one-month training courses at the National Justice Institute.
The Ministry of Justice considers that the given amendments will make the bailiffs more responsible and will contribute to strengthening the institutional capacities of the Licensing Commission and the Bailiffs’ Disciplinary Board.
